<lj:music>The Break - 1.21 Gigawatts</lj:music>

So my first night in my new place...with a bed. Awesome.

Expecting a big party when I came home (friends were in town from Orlando and whatnot), I find Matt, Kyle, and my brother all sitting around the living room fuming, sans girlfriends at 12:30 on a Saturday Night. Apparently, some creep from my sister's work threw a party and invited all 3 girls (my sister, Lacey, and Kristin) to his party and specifically told them not to bring their boyfriends. And for some odd reason, the girls obliged him. So they come home TRASHED. Danny and Lacey are in the living room screaming and yelling at each other. Kyle and Kristin are arguing outside and she comes back into the house in tears. Alexx and Matt are doing all right until later tonight when Matt found out she lied, and OHMYGOD got mad at her because she said that she would never lie ever again. And then did. Now they are screaming in the bed room and they are BOTH crying (High School Musical can be heard faintly in the background, thanks Meredith).

So this is the point where I say, "thank God I am single". Well yeah I said it. But I feel left out. Kind of. I think Meredith should come over and we should fight. Anyway, no seriously, REALLY REALLY not so bad being single sometimes.

HELL EXPLAINED BY CHEMISTRY STUDENT

The following is an actual question given on a University of
Washington
chemistry mid-term.
The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared
it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now
have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic
(absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law
(gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some
variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we
need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate
at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once
a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are
leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the
different religions that exist in the world today.
Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their
religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these
religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion,
we can project that all souls go to Hell.

With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of
souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of
change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order
for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume
of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls
enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will
increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of
souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman
year that, "It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,"
and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then
number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic
and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since
Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more
souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby
proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last
night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."

This student received the only "A".

I think PeaceCorps goes to all four places. Maybe one day.

Sad at home alone.

    <lj:music>The Rocket Summer - That's so You</lj:music>

So I'm not going to lie, I've been very sad all day.

Stephanie Georgia Ackley left town today for good to accept a job on Carnival Cruise Lines. I am very happy for her. The sad part is that this will be the first time that I won't be able to see her whenever I want. She was my first friend here at Flagler. The day I met her she invited me to a party. All of my first friends here at Flagler were met through her. In fact, all of my close friends that I still hang out with today were met through her. She was the most fun, upbeat, happy, and positive person that I have ever met at Flagler. She embodied Flagler College to me. When I thought of this school it was practically synonymous with Stephanie. The second week we even knew each other we were already picking out furniture for the house that we would one day live in. That spring we moved into 42 Sanford St. together. This house is also synonymous with her name and face. She is what made it home that I came home to. We always had secrets to tell each other, new music to share, and we always dreamed our dreams together. New Zealand, Scotland, Germany, Africa (our favorite country), we always dreamed out loud and dreamed together.

We went home to each other's houses for the weekend many times. We went to Warped Tours together. We went to San Francisco together.

She is one of two of the 2 people (family excluded) that mean the most to me in this world.

Now her room is empty. I came home from work today and there was no one to play DDR with, no one to watch Degrassi with, and no one to talk to. I know I'll be one of the first people she sees when she's off-duty in 6 months, but it will never be the same. No more sleepovers in our scary house, no more sitting on our porch, no more IMing each other from one floor away. No more power going out on the coldest night of the year and snuggling under 5 blankets miserably ;-)

She's everything I've ever known about this school, and it will definitely be different finishing off my last semester without her. We shared everything together these past 3 years. I will miss her greatly.

So thanks for your help. You shine so bright; you are the star that's in my sky.

Well I don't think I've ever been so worked up about something this much in my life. Tonight, Meredith and I watched the American Scholars Symposium that was aired on C-SPAN. I know have no doubt in my mind:

The U.S. Government planned and executed and executed the attacks on 9/11.

It's something I had always had in the back of my mind since I saw the second tower collapse on that September afternoon from my bedroom in Iceland. I watched in horror as one plane each flew into both towers. Then, just minutes later, I saw the towers collapse. But what I saw looked like an implosion...something planned. But I ignored it, because this was terrorism! This was them attacking us, because they hate us. Because they are Muslim fundamentalists and...and...I couldn't even think of why this would happen. I couldn't even imagine how it could happen. That's because, the way they said it happened, didn't.

Months and months ago someone on my friends list posted a link to the loose change video. It really got me thinking, but I hated that I could even THINK that the government which I have loved and trusted and the government that has protected me could do something like this. I ignored it until tonight. Lately, people speaking out about the truth of 9/11 has been getting a lot of media coverage, something is happening. People are finally opening their minds to idea that something like this may happen.

Tonight alone I probably changed the minds of 15 people, my roommate Steve right now is showing a video to friends upstairs. What happened on September 11, 2001 is the biggest PR campaign that a government ever carried out for itself.

I urge you, all of you, if you have not even watched 5 minutes of loose change, please do so. It is an hour and 22 minutes long, but even 5 or 10 minutes of it will make you think. Also, stay tuned as this is about to get a lot more media coverage...this has been brought up on Scarborough Country, Hannity & Colmbes, C-SPAN, and hopefully one day it will get the attention it needs.

Please, watch this and listen to what your gut tells you.

Fairy Tales

So I saw the "Lady in the Water" tonight. It was very good. I love M. Night Shyamalan movies because they are nothing like other movies. This one was a fairytale/bedtime story...for adults. And it was spectacular. I really left feeling good, and glad I saw the movie.

I realized that it's not whether you believe in ghosts/God/miracles/etc. or not, it's whether there is a small chance in the back of your mind that these things could exist.

All that said, my brother's girlfriend fashions herself as a spiritualist. She wants to get into regression therapy, and is now working on her Psychology degree. If you're not familiar with "Regression Therapy" it is a hypno-therapy session that is supposed to bring you into your past life. So tonight Brian (Alexx's boyfriend) and I allowed ourselves to do one of Lacey's hypnotherapy session. My imagination was running wild and I was very calm, but for the first time I could feel REM while I was full awake. I imagined walking among snow-covered mountains bigger than I had ever seen before. I had nobody with me, but there was a dog (I hate dogs). I saw my shoes, but otherwise chose not to see myself. I was alone that day, but I was not lonely and I knew that I did not leave alone. When she sped up the lifeline I saw a ship and cold water. When she asked if anyone in this life currently lives in my current life I saw three images: the ear of a cat or a dog, a flower, and a heart. I have no idea who those people could be. When she brought me to my death I saw a sprawled silhouette on a black shawl. Later I realized that I fell off of an ominous looking mountain. That would explain my fear of heights.

Anyway, it was fantastic to experience and I feel great. I wasn't able to envision all of the things that the therapy called upon, but I do reccomend that everyone try it and let their imagination do the wandering.
